1. I absolutely love Striegel Hospital!! The staff is awesome!! They play soft music in the exam rooms and have pheromone diffusers. I can honestly say that I have never seen my cat so happy at a vet’s office. Dr. Dogget and her vet tech (sorry I don’t remember her name) took the time to listen to all of my concerns and answer all of my questions. I have definitely found the right vet for my precious fur-babies!

  2. When I moved to Carbondale, I was very happy when I found out that a veterinarian was about a mile away from my house and even happier when I found out they are certified fear-free. My cat is a very anxious kitty, and can be aggressive at the vet. The staff at Striegel know treat her with such kindness and patience. They also are excellent at communicating with me about my cat and how to keep her healthy. I’m so grateful for everything this vet office has done for me and my finicky little cat.

  3. I can’t say enough kind things about the staff at Striegel Animal Hospital. We definitely were pleased with the service with routine appointments but they went above and beyond with what they provided during my cat Maggie’s final months. They were incredibly responsive and answered every question and request we had as we worked to keep her comfortable near her end. There was so much kindness and compassion during what ended up being her final visit. It was an incredibly difficult loss for us, but Striegel and the staff there definitely made the process more bearable.

  4. Absolutely the best vet in Southern Illinois! They're a caring, calm practice that Yorick actually looks forward to going to. The vets and team are extremely knowledgeable and can take care of all needs from routine care, illness, injury, and even getting Yorick's passport stamped for travel back to Europe. I'm really glad they're adding emergency hours so I know we're in excellent, compassionate hands should the need arise. When my mom and I needed to help our cat Sam cross the Rainbow Bridge, Dr. Doggett was there with us to give us the time we needed, while explaining the procedure and timing with such care and humanity for a difficult but necessary task for our beloved family member. When my sister's dog was diagnosed with coonhound paralysis, the team went above and beyond to help us with physical therapy, water therapy, and medications to try to reverse an uncommon condition with little to no literature or research available. Rory made a miraculous 100% recovery in no small part due to this veterinary practice. They set a high bar for veterinary practices and even though we live in Scotland now, Yorick and I continue to trust Striegel with everything and do his routine care whenever we come back.

  5. Took my cat in for an emergency check-up. They fit her into their busy schedule and got her taken care of. They are super kind, calm, and compassionate and put my mind at a lot of ease when worrying about my kitty. They are very up-front and honest and it truly feels like they love and care for all animals. My cat, Poppy, ended up being perfectly fine and they sent us on our way with her being treated with everything she needed. Definitely recommend taking your animals here!

  6. I have been terrified of taking my animals to the vet since I had a horrible time with the passing of my 14 year old pittie girl at our old vet. Let me tell you this place is so much better!! They took amazing care of Leo. Friendly, caring, and knowledgable staff. Calming diffusers for him, soft music playing, they even let him play in a cabinet how he likes. Absolutely love this place and I plan on making this my other fur-baby's new vet as well!

  7. Awesome people! They were very good with my little Buddy. They helped me figure out how to transition Buddy to dog food instead of people food. They actually got him to eat dog food. They didn't get in a hurry. Very patient. I'm staying with them. They actually care about their clients. I appreciate that.

  10. I brought my big baby, Caesar, in for the first time today. He typically gets super anxious when we go to the vet…and with his size, can be hard to handle. Vet days usually end up with us coming home and Caesar not letting me out of his sight for the rest of the day/night because of his stress level. Not the case today! The staff at Striegel Animal Hospital did a great job easing his stress and had him eating out of their hands…literally. It was a great visit and my baby came home happy and relaxed!
